Setting up Spring
After much debate and consideration on timing, we decided to get that garden going. I have high hopes for this year. We had a giftcard to a local greenhouse, but don’t worry, we definitely spent almost 3 times what the giftcard was worth :). I remember learning a fun fact when I briefly worked for a large department store. Did you you know, that the average amount a shopper spends when they are shopping with a giftcard, is 2.5 times the value of the card? Provided that the giftcard doesn’t get lost and forgotten about, in which case the store makes pure profit. Genius, huh?
Back to the Gardy ( our affection nickname for the garden). Here are the wee baby plants and seeds that we are putting our faith in. Lots of Tomatoes of all varieties, Butternut Squash, Onions, cucumbers, green beans, beets, spinach, a bunch of random flowers.
This weekend was so strange weather wise. It has been raining off and on all weekend, and all of a sudden, the sun will appear out of nowhere. I keep going back and forth between wanting to stay in and work on my quilt, and wanting to work outside. I have lots of gift giving occasions coming up, so instead of working on my quilt, I whipped up a couple cute little something.
So this little guy I call Mr. Sun. I saw a tuturial here, and haven’t been able to get him off my mind since! Since babies love all ribbony-satiny things, this little guy is just what the doctor ordered for a babygift. Plus, isn’t he adorable? If you have a second, read the explanation the author of the tutorial wrote. Apparently, a mass producer of toys has a patent on “ribbony” things, therefor the maker of these isn’t allowed to sell them. Lame, huh?
Happy Spring! ( Almost Summer 🙂 )
